Tasty and Spicy Chili Tofu Recipe

Chili Tofu is a popular Indo-Chinese stir fry dish which has a wonderful flavor and taste. This dish can be served as an appetizer or as a side dish with any meal. This dish is prefect when you have a sudden guest at your home. It has a nice peppery taste from the capsicum. This dish tastes best with hot rice. Try this dish at your home.
Ingredients
- 200 gramsTofu/ bean-curd, cut into small cubes
- 1 largeGreen Capsicum
- 1 mediumOnion
- 2 tablespoonOlive oil
- 12-15 clovesGarlic crushed
- 2 tablespoonsDark soya sauce
- 4Green chilies, sliced diagonally
- 1 tablespoonRed chili sauce
- 2 tablespoonsCornflour/ corn starch
- 1/2 cupWater
- 2 stalksSpring onion greens
- saltto taste
- 1/2 teaspoonWhite pepper powder
- 1/2 cupVegetable stock/ Water
- 2 teaspoonsVinegar
Directions
- Step1Slice onion and also cut capsicum into strips, chop the Chop spring onion greens and also in a small bowl add cornflour and 1/2 water and mix it well and keep it aside.
- Step2Heat oil in a non stick wok, add onion and fry on high flame and add garlic and capsicum and fry on a medium flame.
- Step3Add the the tofu and mix it nicely and add dark soya sauce, green chilies and red chili sauce and add cornflour to ½ cup water and mix it well.
- Step4Add salt, pepper powder and vegetable stock to the wok and mix it very gently.
- Step5Add 2 tbsp of the cornflour mixture, mix it lightly and cook till the mixture thickens and add vinegar and mix it switch off the flame.
- Step6Transfer it to a serving dish and drizzle a little olive oil on the spring onion greens and mix it and garnish it with olive oil drizzled onions and serve it hot.
