Schezwan Chicken Fried Rice Recipe

Schezwan Chicken Fried Rice is a popular Indo- Chinese rice dish that is mouth-watering one-pot-meal. It is tasty, filling and also scrumptious dish. This rice dish has crunch from chicken pieces, and also has a nice flavor. This rice recipe is perfect for any special occasion. It can be also perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 cupsBasmati rice
- 300 gBoneless chicken
- ½ cupCarrot, French beans chopped
- ½ cupSpring onions chopped
- 1Egg
- 2 tbspOil
- 2 tspGrated ginger garlic
- 2Red chili
- ½ tspSugar
- 1 tbspSchezwan sauce (easily available at the market)
- 1 tspSoya sauce
- 1 tspTomato ketchup
- ½ tspPepper powder
- SaltTo Taste
Directions
- In deep pan, add the rice, salt, and enough water and cook till the rice is 90% cooked and once done, drain the water from the rice and keep it aside.
- Cut the boneless chicken into small pieces and also finely chop the carrot, French beans, spring onions and keep it aside
- Beat egg with salt and pepper powder in a small bowl and heat oil in a non-stick pan and pour the beaten egg and scramble it and cook it on a medium flame and transfer it on a plate and keep it aside.
- Add 2 tbsp of oil in the pan and add finely grated ginger and garlic and fry for few seconds.
- Add red chilies and white portion of spring onions and mix it.
- Add the chicken pieces, salt and mix it, sprinkle water and cook it on a low flame and add the veggies, a pinch of sugar and cook it on low flame and stir contentiously.
- Add Schezwan sauce, soya sauce, and tomato ketchup, mix it well and cook for 2 min.
- Add the scrambled egg and mix it, add the cooked basmati rice and fluff it gently and add salt and pepper.
- Toss the rice for 2 min on a high flame and switch off the flame and sprinkle finely chopped green onions.
- Serve it hot with any side dish and enjoy it lip-smacking flavor.
