Rice and Moong Dal Idli Recipe

Rice and Moong Dal Idli are a healthy and tasty breakfast recipe that gives you instant energy. They are an ideal breakfast dish for diabetic people. Moong dal is a rich source of protein and rice is a rich source carbohydrate. Try this healthy and tasty recipe at your home.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cuprice (chawal)
- 1/2 cupgreen moong dal (split green gram)
- 1/4 tspfenugreek (methi) seeds (optional)
- 1/2 cupgrated carrot
- 1/2 cupfinely chopped spring onion whites and greens
- saltto taste
- 1 tspfruit salt
Directions
- Soak the rice, moong dal and fenugreek seeds in a deep bowl with enough water and keep it aside for 5 to 6 hours.
- Drain the water from it and blend until smooth and transfer the mixture into a bowl, add the carrots, spring onion whites and greens and salt and mix it well.
- Just before steaming, add the fruit salt to the batter and pour 2 tsp of water over it and when the bubbles form, mix it gently.
- Put a little batter into each greased idli mold and steam in a steamer for 10 minutes or till the idlis are soft.
- De- mold the idli and serve it hot with sambar.
