One done, transfer the boiled dal in a bowl and add grated onion, grated potatoes, chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, ginger- garlic paste, chaat masala, chopped coriander and salt and mix it nicely. Combine the cooked dal with the rest of the ingredients and mix it well and divide the mixture into equal portions. Use a thick Seekh (metal skewer), press each portion of the dal mixture on the Seekh and with the help of your fingers, make a 100 mm. (4") long kebab. Brush each kebab with oil and cook the kebabs over a charcoal or electric barbecue till they are evenly brown in color on all the sides.
