Bored of plain dosa? Then try this tangy, tasty, and yummy dosa recipe. This dosa is healthy as it low in calories. Tomato dosa has a amazing texture, flavor and very tempting. It is a perfect weekend morning breakfast and also can be packed in lunch box.
Ingredients
- 1 cupRice, raw
- 1/4 cupUrad dal
- 3Tomatoes, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoonFenugreek Seeds (Methi)
- saltto taste
- 1/2 teaspoonCooking soda
- as requiredWater
- gheeor Cooking oil to cook dosa
Directions
- Rinse raw rice, methi seeds and urad dal separately in enough water and then soak them separate bowls in enough water for 3 to 4 hours, or for overnight
- After 3-4 hours or the next morning, transfer the soaked rice, methi seeds and urad dal and a little water in a blender and blend to a smooth paste.
- Add roughly chopped tomatoes to the batter and again blend until smooth and transfer the batter into a bowl and add salt, cooking soda and mix it nicely and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter on it and spread it in a circular motion to make a 225 mm. (9”) diameter thin circle.
- Brush a little ghee over it and along the edges and cook on a high flame till the dosa turns brown in color and crisp on both the sides.
- Serve this dosa with coconut chutney for a delicious wholesome breakfast.
