Quick and Simple Prawns Masala Recipe

Prawn Masala is a simple and quick Indian side dish recipe. This dish is prepared with with prawns and basic Indian spices. It has a blast of flavor and perfect when you have sudden guest at your home. This dish is served as a side dish with rice or roti for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- 12-15Jumbo prawns shelled and deveined
- 1 1/2 mediumOnions
- 3 tablespoonsOil
- 15-18Curry leaves
- 1-inchGinger roughly chopped
- 4-5Garlic cloves
- 2-3Dried red chilies broken
- 1 mediumTomato
- 1 tablespoonFreshly scraped coconut
- 1 teaspoonFennel seeds (saunf)
- Saltto taste
- 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric powder
- 1 teaspoonRed chili powder
- 2Green chilies
- 1 teaspoonGaram masala powder
Directions
- Chopped the onion and keep it aside and in a blender add ginger, garlic, dried chilies, tomato and coconut, fennel seeds and 3 tbsp water and blend to a smooth paste and keep it aside.
- In a bowl add prawns, salt, turmeric powder and red chili powder and mix it well and keep it aside to marinate for 5 minutes.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add curry leaves and chopped onions and fry it nicely.
- Add blended paste and cook for 2-3 minutes and slit the green chilies and add to the pan and mix it well.
- Add marinated prawns and mix it well and cover it with a lid and cook it on a low flame and add garam masala powder and mix it well.
- Switch off the flame and transfer into a serving bowl and serve it with hot rice or roti.
