Soya Granule and Vegetable Pulao Recipe
Soya Granule and Vegetable Pulao is a North Indian staple dish. Soya granule adds a wonderful texture to this pulao and vegetable and spices adds lots of flavor and taste. This rice dish is a complete meal on its own.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cupsoya granules
- 1 tspOil
- 1/2 tspcumin seeds (jeera)
- 1 smallstick of cinnamon (dalchini)
- 1cardamom (elaichi)
- a pinchof asafoetida (hing)
- 1/2 cupchopped onions
- 1/2 cuppeeled and chopped carrot
- 1/2 cupgreen peas
- 1 1/2 cupslong grained rice (basmati) , washed and drained
- 1/4 tspchili powder
- 1/4 tspturmeric powder (haldi)
- 1 tspcoriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
- saltto taste
- 1/4 cupchopped coriander leaves (dhania) for the garnish
- 3 cuphot water
Directions
- In a bowl soak the soya granules in 1 cup of hot water for 15 to 20 minutes and after 20 min drain the water from the soya granules and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds, cinnamon and cardamom and when the cumin seeds crackle, add asafoetida and onions and fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the chopped carrots, green peas, rice and soya granules and fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander-cumin seeds powder, and salt and mix it well.
- Add 3 cups of hot water and pressure cook for 25 min and garnish with the coriander leaves and serve it hot with mango pickle.
