Prep Time: 10min Cook time: 15min Ingredients: 2 cupsplain flour (maida),1 1/2 tspsugar,2 tspdry yeast,2 tbspcurd (dahi),1 tbspmelted ghee,saltto taste,plain flour(maida) for rolling,oilfor deep-frying,as neededWarm Water, Instructions: In a bowl add sugar, dry yeast, and ¾ cup of warm water and stir until the yeast dissolves and cover with a lid and keep it aside for 5 to 7 minutes or until the mixture is frothy. In a bowl add the yeast- sugar mixture, plain flour, curd, 1 tbsp ghee and salt and knead to make a soft dough by using enough warm water. Knead it well for at least 6 to 7 minutes and cover the dough with wet muslin cloth and keep it aside to prove for 30 minutes or till the dough increases in volume slightly. After 30 min, divide the dough into equal portions and roll each portion into a 150 mm. (6”) diameter circle by using a little plain flour. Heat oil in a kadhai and deep-fry the bhaturas, one at a time and fry till they turn golden brown in color from both the sides. Serve it with chana masala and enjoy a hearty meal. Meghna Nath

Ingredients

  • 2 cupsplain flour (maida)
  • 1 1/2 tspsugar
  • 2 tspdry yeast
  • 2 tbspcurd (dahi)
  • 1 tbspmelted ghee
  • saltto taste
  • plain flour(maida) for rolling
  • oilfor deep-frying
