Tasty and Easy Kobbari Kudumulu Recipe
Ganesh Chathurthi special recipes - There are sweet as well as salt versions of Kobbari Kudumulu. Try this Uppu Kudumulu – a plain version of kudumulu. Have a look.
Ingredients
- 1 cupRice
- 2 cupsWater
- 2 tablespoonsChana dal
- Saltto taste
- ¼ cupGrated coconut
- ¼ teaspoonCumin seeds
- 1 teaspoonOil
Directions
- Wash rice and drain it in a colander
- Spread it on a cloth till the rice dries
- Put the rice in a blender and make it to rava
- Add water to a bowl and bring it to boil
- Add salt, cumin seeds and oil to it
- Add Chana dal and boil for 2 minutes
- Add rava to the boiling water and stir constantly to prevent lumps
- Cook till the water evaporates and off the heat
- Keep it covered for about 10 minutes
- Add coconuts and mix well
- Cover it for 5 more minutes and transfer the whole stuff to a wide utensil
- Cool it for some more time till you can handle it to make round balls
- Prepare round balls out the mixture and steam them in idli cooker for about 8 minutes
- Off the flame and set aside for about 5 minutes
- Remove them in serving plate and offer it as naivedyam to God Ganesha.
