Easy Daddojanam Recipe – Curd Rice Recipe
Daddojanam is one of the main courses offered as naivedyam during Sankranthi, Durga Navaratris or Dasara days. To prepare and get the temple prasadam taste, use red chilies instead of green chilies. You can also pack it as meal and have it with any pickle.
Ingredients
- 1 cupCurd
- ½ cupMilk
- 1 teaspoon greatedGreen chilies
- 3Green chilies
- 10 leavesCurry leaves
- ½ teaspoonCumin seeds
- 1 teaspoonBengal gram
- 2 teaspoonsUrad dal
- 1 teaspoonMustard seeds
- 2Red chili
- ¼ teaspoonBlack pepper
- Saltto taste
- 2 teaspoonsOil
Directions
- Wash rice with water and pressure cook it in a cooker
- Wait for sometime till the pressure from cooker releases out
- Open the lid and add required salt to rice
- Keep it aside
- Place a pan on flame and add oil to it
- When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds
- Let them splutter for few seconds
- Add Bengal gram, urad dal, red chilies and curry leaves
- Fry them on medium flame
- Add grated ginger and green chilies
- Fry for just 30 seconds
- Off the flame and keep it aside
- Add curd and luke warm boiled milk to the rice
- Mix them well and add the tampering to the curd rice
- Add black pepper powder at the end and have it after few hours.
