Bengali Chum Chum Recipe – Bengali Special Sweet
Chum Chum also called Cham Cham Recipe is one of the traditional Bengali sweet recipes that is prepared with milk. It is a tear drop shaped rasgulla with firmer texture and cooked in thicker syrup. Have a look at the recipe.
Ingredients
- 5 cups / 1litreMilk
- 2 tablespoonsLemon juice
- 2 cupsSugar
- 1 tablespoonArarot
- ¼ cupMawa
- 3Cardamoms
- 3 tablespoonsPowdered sugar
- 7 thinly slicedPistachios
- 2 dropsKewada essence
- 1 pinchYellow color
Directions
- Add milk to a bowl and place it on flame
- Once the milk is boiled, off the flame and let it cool for 10 minutes
- Add some water in lemon juice and add this mixture to the milk at a time
- This helps the milk to coagulate
- Stop adding lemon juice when the milk coagulates completely
- Collect the water in the utensil and the solid stuff will be collected in the cloth
- Pour some water on this solid part and wash it nicely
- Add 4 cups of water to the pressure cooker
- Add 2 cups of sugar to it and boil it on low flame
- While the sugar syrup is getting ready, prepare the cham cham
- Divide the solid part into 8 equal parts and bind it nicely in an ovel shape as shown in the image
- Place it on a plate and continue the same process with the remaining part
- Once the sugar water is boiled, off the flame and add the prepared balls to the sugar mixture
- When all the balls are added to the pressure cooker, close the lid and start boiling it
- After one whistle, reduce the flame and cook for 5 to 7 minutes
- Off the flame and place the cooker in cool utensil so that it becomes cool very quickly in water
- Open the lid and take out the cham cham along with sugar syrup in a bowl
- Prepare the stuff for cham cham at this point
- Take a bowl and add sugar powder, mashed mawa, cardamom powder to it and mix them well
- Now slit the cham cham exactly in middle and place the stuff in it
- Garnish it with chopped pistachios and serve it directly without any sugar syrup.
