Healthy Baitha Varan Recipe
Baitha Varan is something just like green paste that is simple to prepare and is a healthy dish. Consuming the dish increases Vitamin A while the vegetables add fiber to the body. Follow the simple steps below.
Ingredients
- ¾ cupToovar dal
- ¼ teaspoonTurmeric powder
- to tasteSalt
- ½ teaspoonCumin powder
- 1 ½ cup (Carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, etc)Boiled vegetables
- ½ cupGreen Paste
- 1 teaspoonSugar
- 2 teaspoonsLemon juice
- ¼ cupFinely chopped coriander leaves
Directions
- Wash toor dal and soak it in water for about 3 hours
- Drain the water and add turmeric powder, salt, 1 ½ cup of water to it
- Pressure cook till 3 whistles and off the flame
- Add cumin seeds powder, boiled vegetables and green paste to dal
- Off the flame and add few drops of lemon juice along with coriander leaves before serving with rice.
You can have it with even Plain Roti. You can add any number of vegetables to dal and make your dish interesting.
