Rajasthani Special Besan Stuffed Mirchi Recipe
Stuffed Green Chilies is a fantastic side dish for people who love to eat spicy things. It is a dry curry that is made with mirchi and gram flour. It tastes good in curd rice or even with plain hot rice.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoonsMustard oil
- 1 teaspoonFennel seeds
- 1 teaspoonCumin seeds
- 1 teaspoonMustard seeds
- ½ teaspoonGaram masala powder
- 1 teaspoonGinger garlic paste
- 1 ½ cupsWater
- 1 cupChopped onion
- 1 cupBesan
- 6 bigGreen chilies
- ½ teaspoonTurmeric powder
- 1 teaspoonRed chili powder
Directions
- Place a pan on flame and dry roast besan till it turns golden brown in color
- Add mustard oil in pan
- When the oil gets hot, add fennel seeds, cumin seeds and mustard seeds
- Once they splutter, add ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell disappears
- Add chopped onions and fry for a while
- Add the roasted besan to the fried onions along with turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and garam masala powder
- Mix all the ingredients well and fry for a minute
- Aplit the chili in the middle and remove all the seeds inside it
- Apply salt inside the chili and stuff the besan powder inside it
- Place a non stick pan on flame and add oil to it
- When the oil is hot, add the stuffed chilies to it
- Cover the pan with lid for about 3 minutes and remove the lid
- Turn the other side and fry for 2 more minutes
- Continue the process until the chilies are completely done
- Remove them from pan and place them on serving plate.
Serve the Stuffed Chili with hot rice as a side dish. It tastes good with Sambar Rice.
