Indian Onion Chutney Recipe
Try this Onion Chutney Recipe, as it tastes good with string flavor and aroma of both corianders along with onions. Eat it with hot rice and ghee. You can also have the chutney for dosa or idli.
Ingredients
- 1 cupOnions
- 4Red chilies
- 1 teaspoonTamarind
- Saltto taste
- 2 teaspoonsOil
- ½ teaspoonMustard seeds
- ½ teaspoonSplit urad dal
- 10 leavesCurry leaves
Directions
- Peel the skin of onions and wash them with water
- Dry them on a clean towel for sometime
- Take a pan and add oil to it
- Fry the onions till they become golden brown in color and then add red chilies to it
- Add tamarind and fry for about 2 minutes
- Off the flame and cool the fried ingredients for few minutes
- Place them in a grinder and add salt to it
- Grind them into a fine paste
- Place a pan on flame and set for tampering the onion chutney
- Add oil to the pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves to it
- Let them splutter for some time and off the flame
- Transfer it to chutney. The tasty onion chutney is ready to eat.

If you like to have spicy chutney, add more chilies before you grind it. Use small onions, as the chutney tastes better with them.
