South Indian Breakfast Rava Dosa Recipe
Rava Dosa is a popular South Indian Breakfast that looks like thin crepes and crispy. It is very easy to prepare as the morning breakfast. Add onions and grated carrot to make the dosa interesting.
Ingredients
- 1 cupRava / Semolina
- 1 cupRice Flour
- 3Green chilies
- ½ inchGrated ginger
- ½ teaspoonBlack pepper
- ¼ teaspoonCumin seeds
- Saltto taste
- 3Onions
- 3Roasted cashews
- 1 teaspoonOil
Directions
- Step1Take a mixing bowl and add rice flour, rava, water. Form a smooth batter out of it
- Step2Add cumin seeds and salt to the batter
- Step3Cover the batter with a plate and keep it aside for few hours
- Step4Add chopped onions, green chilies, ginger, cashew nuts and black pepper in a bowl
- Step5Mix them well and keep them aside
- Step6Place dosa pan on flame and grease it with oil
- Step7Pour two spoons of batter of batter and spread it in a spiral motion to form a thin pancake
- Step8Sprinkle oil on it along with the onion mixture
- Step9Fry the dosa until its edges become golden brown in color
- Step10Fold the dosa. Remove it from pan and place it on a serving plate.
From the ancient days, there was a proverb saying that “Break the fast like a king and have lunch like a prince. Dine like a poor person.” So never skip your breakfast as it is the resource for energy for the whole day.
