Indian Dal Makhani Recipe
Dal Makhani Recipe one among the famous Punjabi Recipes that every road side stall vendor makes a claim that they alone can make the recipe to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 cupsUrad dal
- 8 cupsWater
- 2 tablespoonsSalt
- 1 tablespoonSliced ginger
- 2 tablespoonsButter
- 1 tablespoonOil
- 2 teaspoonsShahi jeera
- 1 teaspoonKasoori meethi
- 2 cupsTomato puree
- 1 teaspoonChili powder
- 1 teaspoonSugar
- 1.5 cupCream
Directions
- Step1Cook dal until it become tender
- Step2Place a heavy bottomed pan on flame and add oil to it
- Step3Add shahi jeera and kasoori meethi to it
- Step4Let them splutter for a while and add tomato puree to it
- Step5Add salt, chili powder and sugar
- Step6Fry them on high flame till oil get separated
- Step7Add cooked dal to it and bring it to boil
- Step8Add water if required. The consistency should be in such a way that the dal should move freely when stirred
- Step9Cover the lid and cook on low flame
- Step10Add cream and stir it once again
- Step11Off the flame and serve it immediately with hot rice as it tastes good with rice.
This is an easy dish and you can cook it perfectly at home within few minutes. The taste with different flavors like butter, kasoori methi, chilies and tomatoes is really excellent and you would like to have more of it.
