Chettinad Mushroom Masala Recipe
Chettinad Mushroom Curry is one among the delicious Indian Recipes served during many occasions. Try this recipe in an easy way for your family members.
Ingredients
- 2 cupsMushrooms
- 1 teaspoonTamarind juice
- pinchTurmeric powder
- 1 teaspoonMustard seeds
- 10 leavesCurry leaves
- 2 tablespoonsOil
- ½ cupCoriander powder
- 1 teaspoonPepper corns
- 2Dry red chilies
- 1 tablespoonCoriander seeds
- ½ teaspoonCumin seeds
- ½ teaspoonFennel seeds
- 2Onions
- 2Garlic cloves
Directions
- Step1Roast peppercorns, dry red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, onions and garlic separately till a nice aroma is released. You can also roast them together if you do not find time to roast them separately
- Step2Cool it for a while and grind it to a coarse pate
- Step3Keep it aside
- Step4Clean mushrooms perfectly using a paper towel and chop them lengthwise
- Step5Place pan on flame and add oil to it
- Step6Add mustard seeds and curry leaves to it. Let them splutter
- Step7Add chopped mushrooms and fry them for about 10 minutes till they get nice color
- Step8Do not add water to it as the water in mushrooms is enough for cooking
- Step9Add chopped tomatoes to the fried mushrooms and mix it well
- Step10Add salt, tamarind juice and turmeric powder to it
- Step11Mix them well and cover the lid for few minutes
- Step12Add the spice mixture and mix everything well
- Step13Wait for 2 minutes and off the flame
- Step14Remove it in serving bowl and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve it as a side dish for rice or roti. You can also use this as stuffing for masala dosas or samosas. For more taste, add grated coconut after adding tomatoes.
