Tasty Beans Paruppu Usili Recipe
Paruppu Usili is a very popular dish generally seen in Brahmin houses. Try this yummy Paruppu Usili with Beans and have it with sambar or rasam.
Ingredients
- 1 cupCluster beans
- ¼ cupChana dal
- ¼ cupTur dal
- 2Dried red chilies
- 1Green chili
- pinchTurmeric powder
- Saltto taste
- 2 tablespoonsOil
- 1 teaspoonMustard seeds
- 10 leavesCurry leaves
Directions
- Step1Wash and soak the dals in water for about 30 minutes
- Step2Grind them along with red chilies, green chilies and salt
- Step3Wash beans and trim it edges
- Step4Chop beans into small pieces
- Step5Boil it with water till they become tender
- Step6Make balls with the ground mixture and steam them in idli platesfor about 10 minutes
- Step7Crumble them with hands and keep them aside
- Step8Place pan on flame and add oil to it
- Step9Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves to it
- Step10Add the crumbled dal and roast them for few minutes
- Step11Then add the boiled beans and fry them for 10 minutes
- Step12Off the flame and serve it with hot rice.
It goes well with rasam, Kaara kulambu, vattral kulambu, etc.
