Holi Special Ram Ladoo Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cupYellow lentil
- ½ cupBengal gram
- ½ teaspoonRed chili powder
- 1Green chili
- Saltto taste
- 1 inchGrated ginger
- 1 tablespoonChopped green coriander
- Oilfor frying
- Lemonfor garnishing
- Rocksalt
- 100gmsCoriander leaves
- 100gmsMint leaves
- 1 teaspoonMango powder
- 2Garlic pod
- 2Green chilies for chutney
- 1 inchGinger piece for chutney
- 1Onion
Directions
- Wash yellow lentil and Bengal gram and soak them in water for about 3 hours
- Drain water completely and grind them into a course paste
- Keep adding little amount of water while grinding the dals
- Grind it into a fine paste
- The mixture should have dropping consistency. Drop a small ball in a bowl full of water. If it floats up on the surface, it mean the mixture has desired consistency
- Add salt to the frying pan after the oil becomes hot
- Reduce the flame and 1 teaspoon of batter with wet fingers
- Give it to round shape by gently placing them in oil
- Place as many as possible in the oil at a time
- Fry these balls on medium flame until they turn golden brown
- Place the fried balls on an oil absorbent paper
- For preparing chutney place all the ingredients like coriander leaves, mint leaves, mango powder, garlic pod, green chilies, ginger pieces, onion, salt in the grinder
- Grind all the ingredients in to fine paste and remove it in a bowl
- The tasty Ram Ladoo along with mint chutney is ready to serve
The ladoo tastes good hot with mint chutney. Serve 5 to 6 ladoos on a small plate along with mint chutney. Garnish it with lemon pieces and coriander leaves. Sprinkle some rock salt on the ladoos for better taste.
