Karwa Chouth Special Recipe Kesar Peda
Karwa Chauth mostly celebrated in North India by married women where married women keep fasting for the whole day and have dinner in the night. This is done for the safety and longevity of their husbands. Try this Kesar Peda Recipe on this auspicious day and celebrate the festival.
Ingredients
- 1 cupCurd
- ¼ cupUnsweetened Khoya
- pinchSugar
- 2 tablespoonsSaffron
- ½ teaspoonMilk
Directions
- Step1Soak saffron in hot milk for about 5 minutes and crush it well
- Step2Add the crumbled khoya in a pan and fry it for a minute
- Step3Add saffron milk along with sugar and cardamom powder
- Step4Dissolve the sugar completely in the milk
- Step5Stir the khoya mixture on low flame until the mixture thickens
- Step6Off the flame and place the mixture in a plate
- Step7Cool it for some time. When the mixture is warm enough to handle, grease your hands and make small balls using the dough
- Step8Deep fry the slices till they turn crisp
- Step9Shape the balls into flat discs and press them with peda mold
- Step10Keep them aside and cool them completely
- Step11Consume them after 2 days.
