Karwa Chouth Special Recipe Kesar Peda
Karwa Chauth mostly celebrated in North India by married women where married women keep fasting for the whole day and have dinner in the night. This is done for the safety and longevity of their husbands. Try this Kesar Peda Recipe on this auspicious day and celebrate the festival.
Ingredients
- 1 cupCurd
- ¼ cupUnsweetened Khoya
- pinchSugar
- 2 tablespoonsSaffron
- ½ teaspoonMilk
Directions
- Soak saffron in hot milk for about 5 minutes and crush it well
- Add the crumbled khoya in a pan and fry it for a minute
- Add saffron milk along with sugar and cardamom powder
- Dissolve the sugar completely in the milk
- Stir the khoya mixture on low flame until the mixture thickens
- Off the flame and place the mixture in a plate
- Cool it for some time. When the mixture is warm enough to handle, grease your hands and make small balls using the dough
- Deep fry the slices till they turn crisp
- Shape the balls into flat discs and press them with peda mold
- Keep them aside and cool them completely
- Consume them after 2 days.
