Restaurant Style Butter Chicken Recipe
Try this Butter Chicken Curry that tastes sweet and sour. This restaurant style Indian Butter Chicken has tomato with cashew nuts along with butter and cream. Have a look at the recipe.
Ingredients
- 450gmsChicken
- ¾ tablespoonLemon juice
- Saltto taste
- 2 tablespoonsRed chili powder
- ¾ teaspoonKasuri methi
- ½ teaspoonTurmeric powder
- ½ tablespoonGaram masala powder
- 1 tablespoonOil for cooking
- 2 tablespoonGinger garlic paste
- ½ cupThick curd
- 2 tablespoonsButter
- 1 inchCinnamon stick
- 2Green cardamoms
- 2Cloves
- pinchMethi powder
- 2Green chilies
- 2Tomatoes
- 8Cashew nuts
- ½ teaspoonGaram masala powder
- ½ teaspoonSugar
- 80mlChilled cream
- Coriander leaves
Directions
- Step1Wash chicken pieces with water and dry it for sometime
- Step2Marinate the pieces with lemon juice, chili powder for about 20 minutes
- Step3Add yogurt, kasuri methi, oil, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, garam masala powder to the marinated chicken pieces and leave it for about 2 hours
- Step4Overnight marinating really works best
- Step5Place pan on low flame and add marinated chicken pieces into the pan
- Step6Fry it hot flame until all the moisture evaporates
- Step7Stir it constantly so that you can avoid over burning of chicken pieces
- Step8Transfer the pieces to a plate and set them aside
- Step9Add butter to the pan and fry ginger garlic paste, green chilies till it turn frangrant
- Step10Add tomato puree to it and cook till the puree becomes thick
- Step11Pour 1 cup of water and add methi powder along with almond paste.
- Step12Boil the mixture and cook it on low flame for 3 minutes
- Step13Add kasuri methi, garam masla powder and fry it for 2 minutes
- Step14Add chicken pieces and cook it on low flame for about 7 minutes till the pieces become soft and tender
- Step15Add garam masala powder, kasuri methi and stir the mixture
- Step16Cook it for 2 minutes and pour cream in it
- Step17Off the flame and finally garnish it with coriander leaves
The tasty Butter Chicken is ready to serve for your guest. Serve it with roti or hot rice. The curry tastes good with boneless chicken pieces. If you do not have almonds, you can replace it with cashew nuts.
