Know How to Make Spicy Indian Mutton Curry
Try this Tasty Mutton Curry by including all the spices to prepare the dish. As mutton generally needs slow cooking on low heat, try to cook it for a long time for better taste. It is not only a mouth-watering dish but also makes you feel that you had a hearty meal for the day.
Ingredients
- 500gmsMutton
- 2Onions
- 2Tomatoes
- 3 tablespoonsGinger garlic paste
- Oilfor frying
- 1 inchCinnamon stick
- 3Cloves
- 2Bay leaves
- 1/2 tablespoonFennel seeds
- 10Curry leaves
- ½ tablespoonTurmeric powder2 tablespoonsRed chili powde½ tablespoonCoriander powder½ tablespoonBlack pepper1 cup choppedCoriander leaves
Directions
- Step1Take a pan and add 1 tablespoon of oil to it
- Step2Saute onions till they become golden brown color
- Step3Add tomatoes to it and fry them for 5 minutes
- Step4Remove them from heat and cool it for about 10 minutes
- Step5Grind tomatoes and onions into smooth paste and keep aside
- Step6Place a pressure cooker on low flame and add oil to it
- Step7Add the ground paste and fry for about 2 minutes
- Step8Add ginger garlic paste to it and fry it till the raw smell goes off
- Step9Add mutton pieces and mix it well
- Step10Fry for about 10 minutes on medium flame
- Step11Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, salt to it
- Step12Fry for 5 minutes and water. Stir it well so that all the ingredients are mixed well
- Step13Close the lid of the cooker and pressure cook it for about 5 minutes till you get 4 whistles
- Step14Off the flame and remove the lid after all the pressure from the cooker goes away
- Step15Keep it aside
- Step16Add remaining oil in a pan and fry cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves, fennel seeds and curry leaves. Let them sputter and add this to pressure cooked gravy
- Step17Boil it for few minutes and remove it from heat
- Step18Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it with roti or rice.
