Healthy Yellow Moong Dal Recipe
Try this Tasty Moong Dal as it is a nutrient dense recipe for your kid. It tastes good when served with steamed rice or even the jeera rice. This is a basic and simple every day Indian meal. Have a look at the recipe.
Ingredients
- ½ cupSlit moong dal
- 2 tablespoonsGreen chili paste
- 1 teaspoonJaggery
- 1Tomato
- ¼ teaspoonTurmeric powder
- 2 tablespoonsFresh chopped coriander
- ½ teaspoonMustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoonAsafoetida
- 1 ½ tablespoonsGhee or oil
Directions
- Step 1
Take a stainless steel vessel and add a cup of water, turmeric powder, moong dal to it
- Step 2
Pressure cook it up to 2 whistles
- Step 3
Once it is cooked add 1 ½ cups of water, salt to it and bring it to boil under low flame
- Step 4
Take another bowl and place it on flame
- Step 5
Add ghee or oil to it
- Step 6
Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter
- Step 7
Add cumin seeds, asafetida and green chili paste to it
- Step 8
Add chopped tomatoes and cook for 4 minutes under low flame till they turn soft
- Step 9
Add the mixture to dal and cook them on medium flame
- Step 10
Finally add jiggery and cook the dal on low flame for about 5 minutes
- Step 11
Off the flame and remove it to serving bowl
- Step 12
Sprinkle coriander leaves at the end
