Ingredients
- 1 cupquick cooking rolled oats
- 1/4 cupfinely chopped tomatoes
- 1 cupbeaten low-fat curd (dahi)
- 1 tbspMeetha chutney, recipe below
- 1/4 cupsprouted and boiled kala chana (brown chick peas)
- 1 tspchili powder
- 2 tspcumin seeds (jeera) powder
- 1 tspblack salt (sanchal)
- 1 tspchaat masala
For The Meetha Chutney
- 1 cupdeseeded dates (khajur)
- 1/2 tspchili powder
- 1 tspcumin seeds (jeera) powder
- 1/2 tspblack salt (sanchal)
- saltto taste
For The Garnish
- 2 tbspfinely chopped coriander (dhania)
- 1/4 cupfresh pomegranate (anar)
Directions
For the Meetha chutney
- In a pressure cooker, add dates and 1½ cups of water, mix it well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid and keep aside to cool slightly and once cooled, blend to a smooth paste by using ¼ cup of water.
- Transfer it in a deep bowl, add the chili powder, cumin seeds powder, black salt and salt and mix it well and keep it aside.
How to proceed
- Heat a broad non-stick pan and dry roast the oats on a medium flame for 4 minutes to remove the raw taste of oats and keep it aside.
- In a bowl, add the roasted oats, and also add chopped tomatoes, curd, Meetha chutney, chili powder, cumin powder, black powder, chaat masala and mix it nicely.
- Transfer it to a bowl, garnish with coriander and pomegranate.
