Healthy Matar Paneer Paratha Recipe

Matar Paneer Paratha is a tempting and healthy Indian flat bread which is stuffed with yummy paneer and matar (peas) filling. This paratha is mouth-watering, flavorful, and delightful dish for your family. It is perfect for morning breakfast and can be served with any side dish. Ingredients
For The Dough
- 2 cupsplain flour (maida)
- 1 cupwhole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
- 1/4 cuprice flour (chawal ka atta)
- a pinchof sugar
- a pinchof baking powder (optional)
- tbspghee
For The Stuffing
- 1 cupgreen peas, boiled and mashed
- 1potato , boiled, peeled and grated
- 250 gmpaneer (cottage cheese), grated
- 1 tspghee
- 1/2 cupgrated onions
- 1 tspginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun)
- 1/2 tspchili powder
- 1 tspcumin seeds (jeera) powder
- 1/2 tspcoriander (dhania) seeds powder
- saltto taste
Other Ingredients
- whole wheatflour (gehun ka atta) for rolling
- oilfor cooking
Directions
For the dough
- In a bowl, add plain flour, wheat flour, rice flour, sugar, baking powder, sugar, and enough water and knead into a soft dough.
- Add the ghee and knead it again and cover it with a wet muslin cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
- After 30 min, knead it again, divide the dough into equal portions and keep it aside.
For the stuffing
- In a bowl, add potatoes, green peas, paneer and salt and mix it well and keep it aside.
- Heat ghee in a pan, add the onions and ginger-garlic paste, mix it well and fry till onions turn golden brown in color.
- Add the potatoes-green peas mixture and mix it well and add chili powder, coriander powder and mix it well.
- Switch off the flame and divide the stuffing into equal portions and keep it aside.
How to proceed
- Roll out a portion of the dough into a circle of 4” diameter and place a portion of the stuffing in the center and bring the edges together at the center and seal it tightly.
- Roll out again into a circle of 6" diameter and dust a little whole wheat flour.
- Heat a tawa, place a paratha over it and cook each paratha by using a little oil and cook till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.
- Serve it hot with any pickle of your choice.
