Delicious Cabbage Vada Recipe

Cabbage Vada is a popular Indian tea time snack. This Vada is rich in nutrients as they are loaded with cabbage and flavored with fresh coriander and chilies. This easy recipe is amazingly delicious and mouth-watering. Let’s follow this recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 cupchana dal (split Bengal gram)
- 6green chilies , roughly chopped
- 1 cupfinely chopped cabbage
- 1/2 cupfinely chopped carrots
- 1/4 cupfinely chopped onions
- 1/4 cupfinely chopped coriander (dhania)
- 1/4 cupbesan (Bengal gram flour)
- saltto taste
- oilfor deep-frying
Directions
- In a bowl, soak the chana dal in enough water for overnight and next day, drain the water from the chana dal and keep ½ cup of the chana dal aside.
- In a blender, add 1/2 cup of the chana dal, green chilies and blend to a coarse mixture and transfer the mixture into a bowl, add cabbage, remaining chana dal, chopped carrots, chopped onion and mix it nicely.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a 50 mm. (2”) diameter thick, lightly flattened round vada.
- Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep-fry 3 to 4 vadas at a time and fry till they turn golden brown in color from both the sides and drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve it with green chutney.
