Caramel Custard is a delicious dessert with creamy caramel over a silky custard. The best thing about this delectable dessert is that it is made using just few ingredients which would be easily available in your home. This is a kids favorite dessert and is an easy-to-make recipe. This scrumptious dessert is perfect for any occasion or can be served as a dessert after any meal.
Ingredients
For Caramelizing
- 1/4 cupSugar
Other Ingredients
- 2Eggs
- 5 1/2 tbspSugar
- 1/2 tspVanilla essence
- 1 cupWarm milk
Directions
For caramelizing
- Heat the sugar and 1½ tbsp of water in a small non-stick pan, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes and stir continuously or cook till it caramelizes.
- Pour equal quantities of the caramel mixture in aluminum molds of 75 mm. (3”) diameter and keep it aside to cool completely.
For The Custard
- In a bowl add the egg and sugar mix it well, with a help of hand blender and add the vanilla essence and also add the milk and mix it continuously until the sugar dissolves.
- Strain the mixture by using a strainer and pour the mixture into the caramelized aluminum molds and keep it aside.
- Take an aluminum tray, fill it with 1 ½ cups of water, place the molds at equal intervals and cover with an aluminum foil and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180ºc (360ºf) for 25 minutes.
- De-mold it and keep it in the refrigerator and serve it chill.
