Easy Chana Dal Vada Recipe
Easy Chana Dal Vada is a perfect monsoon snack. This is an easy and lip-smacking vada which is made with chana dal and different spices. This vada has a wonderful flavor, crisp in texture and amazing flavors. It is perfect with a cup of tea. Try this fantastic vada recipe at your home.
Ingredients
- 1 cupchana dal (split Bengal gram)
- 2whole dry Kashmiri red chilies, broken into pieces
- 2 tspfinely chopped green chilies
- 1 tspcumin seeds (jeera)
- 1/2 cupfinely chopped onions
- 1/4 cupchopped coriander (dhania)
- 1/4 cupgrated fresh coconut
- saltto taste
- oilfor deep-frying
Directions
- In a bowl soak the chana dal in enough hot water for 2 hours and after 2 hours, drain the water from the chana dal.
- In a blender, add the soaked chana dal, dry red chilies, green chilies, cumin seeds and ¼ cup of water and blend to a thick coarse paste.
- Transfer the mixture into a deep bowl and add salt, grated coconut, and onions and mix it nicely.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll each portion into a round flat vada.
- Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, deep-fry a few vada at a time on a medium flame and fry till they turn golden brown in color from all the sides and drain on an absorbent paper.
- Serve it with any chutney of your choice.
