Tasty Mushroom Pulao Recipe

Mushroom Pulao is an Indian main course meal which is prepared with aromatic spices and Basmati rice. Mushrooms add a crunchy and an amazing taste to this Pulao. Mushroom Pulao is one of the easy rice recipes and a complete meal for vegetarians. It is healthy and perfect for weekend lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 cupsBasmati rice
- 4 cupsWater
- 1 cupmushrooms sliced
- 1 cuppeas
- 2 mediumonion sliced
- 2 nosgreen chilies
- 2 tspginger garlic paste
- 2-inchcinnamon stick
- 4cloves
- 1bay leaf
- 1 tspblack cumin seeds
- 1 tspSaunf/ Fennel seeds
- 1 tspred chilly powder
- 1 tspDhania powder (you can also use Biryani/Pulao masala optional)
- 1/2 tspturmeric powder
- saltto taste
- 1 tbspOil
- 5-6Cashew nuts, fried in ghee
- for garnishingcoriander leaves
Directions
- Wash the rice in enough water and drain the water from the rice and keep it aside.
- In a pressure cooker, add oil, add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, fennel seeds, bay leaf, cumin seeds and fry for few minutes.
- Add green chilies and fry for a minute and then add onions, turmeric powder and fry it nicely.
- Add ginger garlic paste and fry till the aroma comes out and add peas and mushrooms and fry for 3 min on medium flame.
- Now add the rice, red chili powder, dhania powder and fry it nicely and add 3 cups of water.
- Add salt and cook on a low flame for 20 min and once done switch off the flame and garnish with fried cashew nuts and coriander leaves and serve it hot with tomato pickle.
