Masoor Dal Khichdi is a simple one pot meal that can be prepared very easily with just a few ingredients. This dish is very nutritious and perfect main course meal for vegetarians. Masoor dal is a rich source of protein and an ideal dish for dinner or lunch. Try this easy dish in your home and enjoy a hearty meal with your family.
Ingredients
- 2 cupRice
- 1 cupMasoor Dal
- 3Bay leaf
- 3Cardamom green
- 2Cardamom Brown
- 4Cloves
- 1 teaspoonCumin Seeds
- 1/2 teaspoonBlack Pepper
- Saltto taste
- 4dry Red chili
- 1Onion, chopped
- 1Cinnamon stick
Directions
- Wash the rice and masoor dal in enough water and keep it aside.
- Heat the oil in a pressure cooker, add chopped onion, cardamom green, cardamom brown, cloves, cumin seeds, bay leaf, dry red chilly, cinnamon stick and black pepper and fry for a minute.
- Add the washed rice and masoor dal and also add salt and water and cover the cooker with a lid and cook it on low flame for 7-8 minutes.
- Once done, switch off the flame and transfer it to a serving bowl and serve it hot with any pickle of your choice.
