Ingredients
- 5chicken legs
- 2 tbspcurd
- 1/2 tbspfresh cream
- 1big onion thinly chopped
- 1big tomato thinly chopped or pureed
- 1 tspginger paste
- 1 tbspgarlic paste
- 2green chilies chopped
- 1dried Kashmiri red chili
- 1bay leaf
- 1/2 tspcumin seeds
- 1/2 tspred chili powder
- 1/4 tspturmeric powder
- 1-1/2 tspcoriander powder
- 1 tspgaram masala powder
- A pinchof black pepper powder
- for CookingVegetable oil
- Saltto taste
Directions
- Wash and clean the chicken legs thoroughly in warm water and in bowl add the yogurt, salt, black pepper powder, fresh cream and turmeric powder and mix it well.
- Coat the chicken legs into the curd mixture and marinate it for 30 minutes.
- Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan and add kashmiri red chili, bay leaf and cumin seeds and fry for few seconds and add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies and fry for few second
- Add onion and fry until the onion turns into light golden brown in color.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, salt and red chili powder and cook it on a low flame
- Add the marinated chicken leg pieces and mix it nicely and add 2 cups of water and mix it well, add coriander powder and garam masala powder.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook it on a low flame for 7-8 min and cook it till the chicken is soft and tender.
- Switch off the flame and serve it with tandoori roti.
Notes
- At the time of serving, if you want you can serve this dish with the nuts, cilantro and mint leaves.
