Delicious Jam Tarts Recipe

Jam Tart is a classic simple delicacy that is loved by everyone. This jam tart is a dessert with a crispy tart at the bottom and jam filling on the top and it is simply delicious. Serve this tart as a delicious dessert during any occasion and enjoy its flavors.
Ingredients
- 10tarts
For The Jam Filling
- 1 cupmixed fruit jam(easily available at the market)
- 2 tspcornflour
- 1/4 cupfinely chopped apples (unpeeled)
- 1/4 cupfinely chopped pears (unpeeled)
For tarts
- 1 3/4 cupsplain flour (maida)
- a pinchof salt
- 3/4 cupbutter (at room temperature)
Directions
For the tart
- In a bowl sieve, the flour and salt and also add butter and mix it well.
- Gradually add ice-cold water (approx. 3 tbsp) and knead it well to make a stiff dough and keep it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
- After 15 min, remove from the refrigerator and knead the dough again and divide it into equal portions.
- Roll out a portion of the dough into a 100 mm. (4”) diameter circle and place the circle into a 75 mm. (3”) diameter tart case and press the circle gently around the sides of the tart case/mold.
- Prick all over the tarts with the help of a fork and arrange the tarts on a baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 200ºc (400ºf) for approx. 10 to 15 minutes and keep it aside.
For the jam filling
- In a bowl add the cornflour and 1 tbsp of water, mix it well and keep it aside.
- In a deep non-stick pan add 1/4 cup of water and jam, mix it well and cook on a
- medium flame for 4 minutes and stir occasionally.
- Add the cornflour-water mixture, mix it well and cook on a medium flame 3 minutes and stir continuously.
- Add the chopped apple and chopped pear and mix it well and switch off the flame and keep it aside to cool for 30 minutes.
How to proceed
- Fill each tart with the prepared jam filling and put in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours or till semi-set.
- Serve it and enjoy it.
