Delicious Tomato Dosa Recipe
Tomato Dosa is a bright colored Indian pancake/crepe. Tomato dosa is super easy to prepare and has a tangy taste. So if you are looking for a quick and innovative dosa recipe for your breakfast, then try this Tomato Dosa recipe at your home.
Ingredients
- 1 cupraw rice
- 1/4 cupurad dal
- 3 largetomatoes, roughly chopped
- 1/4 teaspoonfenugreek seeds(methi seeds)
- saltto taste
- 1/2 teaspooncooking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
- wateras required
- oil orghee to cook dosa
Directions
- Rinse raw rice, methi seeds, and urad dal separately and then soak them separately in a bowl with enough water for 3 to 4 hours, or overnight.
- After 3-4 hours or the next morning, blend the rice, methi seeds, and urad dal together with a little water and blend until it forms a smooth batter.
- Add roughly chopped tomatoes to the batter and blend for few more minutes and transfer the batter to a bowl and add salt and mix it well.
- Add cooking soda and mix it again and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
- Heat a skillet or tawa and pour a ladleful of the batter on the tawa and spread the batter in a circular motion to make a 150 mm. (6") thick dosa.
- Drizzle a few drops of oil or ghee on the sides and cook on a low flame and cook it till the dosa is brown in color and crisp from both the sides.
- Serve it with ginger chutney and sambar.
