Aloo Tikki Sandwich Recipe

Potato/Aloo Tikki Sandwich is an innovative sandwich recipe. It is a versatile dish as it can be served for breakfast, tea time snack or as a party appetizer too. Try this interesting sandwich recipe for your family member.
Ingredients
For The Potato/Aloo Tikki
- 1 cupboiled, peeled and mashed potatoes
- 2 tbspghee
- 1 tspcumin seeds (jeera)
- 1 tbspfinely chopped green chilies
- 3/4 cupboiled and mashed green peas
- 1 tbspdried mango powder (amchur)
- 1 tbspfinely chopped coriander (dhania)
- 1/2 tspnigella seeds (kalonji)
- saltto taste
- 2 tbspcornflour
- Oilfor deep-frying
- 10slices brown bread, lightly buttered( lightly apply butter on the bread slices)
- 5 tsptomato ketchup
- 1/2 cupgrated carrot
- 1/2 cupshredded lettuce

Directions
For the aloo Tikki
- Heat the ghee in a broad non-stick pan and add the cumin seeds and when the seeds crackle, add the green chilies and fry on a medium flame for a few seconds.
- Add mashed potatoes, green peas, mango powder, nigella seed, salt, and chopped coriander and mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute and stir continuously.
- Remove from the flame and allow the mixture to cool completely and once cooled, add the cornflour and mix it well.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll each portion into a flat round tikki.
- Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan and deep-fry, a few tikkis at a time on a medium flame and fry till they turn golden brown in color from both the sides and drain on an absorbent paper and keep it aside.
How to proceed
- Place 2 buttered bread slices on a clean, dry surface with the buttered side facing upwards and apply ½ tsp of tomato ketchup on both the buttered bread slices.
- Place the tikki on a bread slice and place carrot and lettuce evenly over it and cover it another bread slice with the buttered-tomato ketchup side facing downwards.
- Serve it with a glass of hot white chocolate drink.
