Simple and Easy Khichdi Recipe

Khichdi is a healthy comfort food prepared with rice and moong dal. If you want to eat something light, healthy, and easy to digest for dinner, then this khichdi is the best option. Try this simple and easy khichdi recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 cuprice (chawal)
- 1/2 cupmoong dal (split green gram)
- 2 tbspghee
- 4cloves (laung / lavang)
- 1 inchstick cinnamon (dalchini)
- 1 tspmustard seeds (rai / sarson)
- 2 tspchopped ginger (adrak)
- 3 tspchopped garlic (lehsun)
- 1/2 tspturmeric powder (haldi)
- saltto taste
Directions
- Clean, wash the rice and moong dal together and in a bowl, soak the rice and moong dal with enough water for an hour and after an hour drain the water from it and keep it aside.
- Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker and add cloves, cinnamon, and mustard seeds.
- When the seeds crackle, add the ginger and garlic fry for 30 seconds.
- Add the soaked rice, moong dal, turmeric powder and salt, mix well and add 5 cups of water and mix it well.
- Cover with the lid and pressure cook for 25 min or till the rice and dal get properly cooked.
- Serve it hot with vegetable salad and pickle.
Moong dal is a good source of vitamins, calcium, and potassium.
