Veg Seekh Kebab Recipe
Veg Seekh Kebab is a very simple recipe to prepare. The kebab is packed with protein from the chickpea and is flavored with different spices. This is a vegetarian kebab recipe and perfect for any special occasion. Let’s learn how to make this kebab.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cupyellow moong dal (split yellow gram)
- 1/4 cupboiled and mashed potatoes
- 2 tbspgrated onions
- 2 tbspgrated carrot
- 2 tbspboiled green peas
- 2 tspchili powder
- 1/4 tspgaram masala
- 1/2 tspturmeric powder (haldi)
- 1/5 tspginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
- 2 tspchaat masala
- 2 tbspchopped coriander (dhania)
- saltto taste
- 1 tbspoil for brushing
Directions
- Clean, wash and boil the moong dal in 1 cup of water till the dal is soft and all the water has evaporated from the dal.
- In a bowl add the cooked dal, mashed potatoes, boiled green peas, chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, ginger- garlic paste, grated onion, grated carrot, chaat masala, and salt and mix the mixture well and divide the mixture into equal portions.
- Use a thick seekh (metal skewer), press each portion of the dal mixture on it by using your fingers to make a 100 mm. (4") long kebab.
- Brush each kebab very lightly with a little oil and cook the kebabs for 3-4 min on a grill or over a charcoal barbecue till they are evenly browned
- Serve hot with green chutney.
