Cheesy Onion Grilled Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients
- 8whole wheat bread slices
- butterfor spreading and brushing
For The Filling
- 1/2 cupgrated processed cheese
- 1/2 cupfinely chopped spring onions whites
- 1 tbspbutter
- 2 tspfinely chopped green chilies
- 1/2 cupfinely chopped cabbage
- 1/2 cupgrated carrot
- 1/2 cupfinely chopped spring onion greens
- 2 tspchili sauce
- 1 tbsptomato ketchup
- saltto taste
Directions
For the filling
- Step1Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan, add spring onion whites and green chilies and fry on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Step2Add cabbage, carrot, and spring onion greens and fry on a medium flame for 1 minute.
- Step3Add chili sauce, tomato ketchup and salt, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute.
- Step4Add the grated cheese and mix it well till the cheese melts and switch off the flame.
- Step5Keep it aside to cool and then divide the filling into equal portions and keep it aside.
How to proceed
- Step1Grease a sandwich griller/ maker with butter and preheat for few min.
- Step2Place 2 whole wheat bread slices on a clean, dry surface and butter them lightly.
- Step3Spread 1 portion of the prepared filling evenly on each bread slice and butter 2 more bread slices and place them on the filling with the buttered side facing downwards.
- Step4Brush some more butter on top of the bread and grill in a greased preheated sandwich griller/maker and cook 5 to 7 minutes or till they turn crispy and brown in color from both the sides.
- Step5Cut both the sandwiches diagonally into 2 equal pieces.
- Step6Serve this tasty sandwich with sweet and sour sauce.
