Karnataka Style Maddur Vada Recipe
Maddur Vada is a popular dish in Karnataka. It is made usually from semolina, rice flour, and some rich spices. This deep fried vada is tasty and spicy. Relish these vada as a tea time snack. Let’s follow this Karnataka Style Maddur Vada Recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 cupWheat flour
- 1/2 cupRice flour
- 1/2 cupSooji (rava)
- 1Onion, finely chopped
- 2Green Chili, finely chopped
- 1/2 inchGinger, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoonCurry leaves, chopped
- 1 sprigCoriander leaves (Dhania), chopped
- 1 pinchAsafoetida (hing)
- 2 teaspoonGhee
- Saltto taste
- to deep fryCooking oil
Directions
- Heat a kadhai with oil to deep fry the vadas and make sure you keep the flame in medium or low.
- Meanwhile in a bowl add flour, rice flour, rava, onion, green chili, ginger, chopped curry leaves. 2 tsp ghee, hing, salt.
- Mix it nicely and get a dough like consistency and keep it aside it for 10 minutes and now to make the vada, add grease your palm with oil and take a small ball of the dough and pat it flat.
- Carefully drop it into the hot oil and fry on both the sides for about 1 minute and drain it on a kitchen towel.
- Serve the Maddur Vada with Spicy Coconut Chutney.
