Crispy Ajwain Puri Recipe
Ajwain Puri is a delicious, crispy Indian fried bread. This puri can be served as a snack or breakfast dish. This deep fried bread tastes best with any side dish or just like that. Try this innovative recipe for a change from regular puris.
Ingredients
- 250 gramsWheat flour
- 1 teaspoonCarom seeds (Ajwain)
- 1 teaspoonTurmeric powder (Haldi)
- saltto taste
- Cooking oilfor deep frying
Directions
- In a deep bowl add wheat flour, carom seeds, turmeric powder, and salt, and add sufficient water and knead it in order to get a consistency of a stiff dough and the end add 2 tablespoons of oil and knead it again.
- Make equal small balls and roll them onto a board using a rolling pin and the thickness of the dough must not be too thin.
- Heat the oil in a Kadhai with enough oil to fry the puris and after 5 to 10 minutes you can add a tiny bit of the dough into the oil to check if it is done and if the dough rises up quickly then it is done.
- Now gently and carefully slide the puris into the oil and once it comes on the top, with a ladle press the puri down so that it helps in puffing up and then later turn the puri and cook on both the side till you get a golden brown color.
- Serve this delicious puffed up ajwain puris with chana masala.
