Tasty Prawns Coconut Curry Recipe
Prawns Coconut Curry is an easy, delicious, and spicy recipe. This is an easy homemade prawns curry and the fresh coconut milk gives a creamy taste to this curry. It is perfect for weekend lunch or dinner. Let’s follow this tasty recipe.
Ingredients
- 500 gramsPrawns, tiger prawns
- 1/2 cupCoconut milk, first extract
- 1/2 cupCoconut milk, second & third extract
- 2 teaspoonFennel seeds (Saunf)
- 1 teaspoonBlack pepper powder
- 1 tablespoonCoriander Powder
- 1 teaspoonRed chili powder
- 1 teaspoonTurmeric powder (Haldi)
- 3-4Green Chili
- 1 sprigCurry leaves
- 1/2 cupCoriander leaves (Dhania)
- 1 teaspoonTamarind Paste
- 1/2 inchGinger
- 7 clovesGarlic
- 2Tomatoes
- 1Onion, medium
- 1 teaspoonMustard seeds
- saltto taste
- 1 tablespoonCoconut Oil
Directions
- Step1In a blender add fennel, pepper, ginger, garlic, and add a little water and blend into a smooth paste.
- Step2Heat a Kadhai with oil and once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and blended paste and fry till the raw smell leaves.
- Step3Add curry leaves, green chili, and chopped onions and fry till the onions turn translucent.
- Step4Add chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes turn mushy and add tamarind paste.
- Step5Add coriander powder and chili powder, and mix it for a minute.
- Step6Add second and third milk extract of coconut and add salt and boil it and add cleaned and deveined prawns and cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Step7Now add first milk extract of coconut and mix it well and do not boil it.
- Step8Once it is heated enough, switch off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Step9Serve Prawns Coconut Curry with hot steamed rice.
Notes
How to make coconut milk at home
- Combine the coconut and 1 cup of warm water in a mixer and blend till smooth and strain on a damp muslin cloth in a deep bowl and squeeze it with your hand and extract the milk for first extract( which is thick milk) and again blend it and strain on a damp muslin cloth in a deep bowl and squeeze it with your hand and extract the milk for second and third extract (which is little watery compared to the first extract).
