Tasty and Easy Chana Dal Burfi Recipe
Chana Dal Burfi is a traditional Indian sweet which is generally prepared on festivals and special occasion. This sweet dish can be very easily perpared at your home with available ingredients. This burfi has a nice aroma, flavor, taste, and also color. This sweet dish can be also serve has a sweet dessert after any meal. Ingredients
- 3/4 cupchana dal (split Bengal gram)
- 3 tbspmelted ghee
- 1 cuphot milk
- 10-12finely chopped raisins (kismis)
- 3 tbspsugar
- 1/2 tspcardamom (elaichi) powder
- a fewsaffron (kesar) strands
- 10-12almond (badam) sliversr
Directions
- In a bowl, soak the chana dal in the hot water for 2 hours and drain the water from it and transfer the dal into blender and blend to a coarse mixture and keep it aside.
- Heat the ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add the chana dal mixture, mix it well and cook on a low flame for 12 minutes and stir continuously.
- Add the raisins, hot milk and 1 cup of hot water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 9 minutes and stir continuously.
- Add the sugar, cardamom powder and saffron strands, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Pour the mixture immediately into a greased 175 mm. (7”) diameter thali and press it lightly.
- Sprinkle the almond slivers and press it lightly and cut into equal pieces by using a sharp knife.
- Keep it aside for 1 hour and serve it or store in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoy it whenever you want to.
