Delicious Green Gram Sundal Recipe
Green Gram Sundal is a traditional South Indian recipe which you can easily prepare in your home. This dish is prepare on Ganesh Chaturthi in all South Indian household. This dish has an amazing flavor, a wonderful taste, and also has a nice texture. The additional of coconut, makes this more tasty and flavorful. This dish perfect and delicious for any o festival or special occasion.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cupWhole Green Gram soaked
- 2-3 tablespoonsFresh Coconut
- 1Dried red chili
- 2Green chilies finely chopped
- 8-10Curry leaves
- a pinchAsafoetida
- 1/2 teaspoonSplit black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
- 3/4 teaspoonMustard seeds
- Saltto taste
- 2 tablespoonsOil
Directions
- In a bowl, soak the green gram for5 hours and drain the water from it and transfer it in a pressure cooker and also add 1 cup of water and salt and cook for 25 min and once switch off the flame and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a non stick pan and add green chilies and curry leaves and fry for a minute.
- Add asafoetida, urad dal and mustard seeds to the pan and fry till dal turns a light brown.
- Add red chili and curry leaves and add the drained green gram and add to the pan.
- Add salt and coconut and mix it and cook it till dries and once done, switch off the flame and serve it hot.
