Singhare Atta Ka Halwa (Water Chestnut Flour Halwa) Recipe
Singhare Atta Ka Halwa (Water Chestnut Flour Halwa) is a popular dessert in North India that is generally prepared during Janmashtami. This halwa is a healthy and nutritious version of rava halwa. This halwa has a nice nutty flavor of water chestnut flour and also has a nice aroma. This sweet dish can be prepared very easily at your home within few minutes. Try this halwa this Janmashtami.
Ingredients
- 1 cupwater chestnut (Singhare) flour
- 4 tbspghee
- a fewsugar
- 3/4 cupcardamom (elaichi) powder
- 1/2 tspcardamom (elaichi) powder
For The Garnish
- 10-12almond (badam) slivers
- 10-12pistachio slivers
Directions
- Heat the ghee in a broad, non-stick pan, add the water chestnut flour and cook on a low flame for 4 minutes or till it turns light brown in color and stir continuously.
- Add 2 cups of warm water, mix well and cook on a low flame for 4 minutes or till all the water has been absorbed and stir continuously.
- Add the sugar, mix it well and cook on a low flame for 4 minutes and stir continuously.
- Switch off the flame, add the cardamom powder and mix it well and transfer it on a serving bowl and garnish with almonds and pistachios and serve it hot.
