Jeera Chicken Curry Recipe

Jeera Chicken Curry is a famous Indian dish which is very spicy and tasty. Jeera( cumin) is good for health as it has a lot of antioxidants present in it which cured internal problems like bacterial infections etc. Apart from being healthy spice, it gives a strong aroma and flavor. Let follow this recipe.
Ingredients
- 8Chicken legs, skinned
- 2medium onions, finely chopped
- 4 to 5Cloves
- 1/2 tspgarlic, chopped
- 1/2 tspginger, chopped
- 3green chilies, chopped
- 1green capsicum, chopped
- 1 tbspwhole cumin
- 3 tbspground cumin
- 1 tspred pepper powder
- 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
- 2 to 2.5 cupsto taste
- Saltto taste
Directions
- In a large pot, heat oil and add whole cumin and when they start to splutter and turn a bit darker, add chopped onions and cook on a low flame.
- Cover it with a and cook, stir once in a while, until the onions get nice and soft.
- Add garlic, ginger and green chilies and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until garlic turns a bit darker.
- Add ground cumin, red pepper, turmeric, and garam masala and fry the spices for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add chicken legs and mix well with the onion gravy over chicken and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, letting the gravy blend with the chicken.
- Add capsicum, salt and 1.5 cups of water and when the water boils, stir it well, cover and cook on medium-low flame.
- Let it cook for a 60 to 90 minutes, stir often and in between, if the water has dried up, add more water if needed and stir it nicely.
- There should be a lot of gravy at the end, so go on adding water, making sure the gravy doesn't get too thin or too thick.
- Cook, till the chicken, is soft and the spices have nicely got blend with the chicken
- Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rice.
