Easy Lauki (Bottle Gourd) Tamatar ki Sabzi Recipe
Lauki (Bottle Gourd), Tamatar ki Sabzi is a popular North Indian dish. This dish has nice combination of Lauki ( Bottle Gourd) and tomato (Tamatar).This dish is very easy to make and is a perfect dish on a busy day. This dish is perfect for lunch and dinner and tastes best with rice or roti. Let’s follow this recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cupBottle gourd (lauki), (about 4 cups of diced bottle gourd)
- 1/4 cupOnion, finely chopped
- 1 tspGarlic, grated
- 2 tbspTomato, finely chopped
- a pinchCumin seeds
- a pinchTurmeric powder (Haldi)
- 1/2 cupRed chili powder
- saltCurry leaves
- 2 tspCoriander leaves (Dhania), finely chopped
- Cooking oilto cook
- Saltto taste
Directions
- In a pressure cooker add oil and then add cumin seeds, onions, garlic and tomatoes and fry for a few minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, chili powder, curry leaves, salt and also add chopped lauki and add 1/4 cup of water and cook for and cook for 25 min.
- Once the pressure is released, open the lid of the cooker and you will notice that the lauki has given out a lot more water.
- Turn on the flame and cook till the water evaporates and once done, switch off the flame and garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it hot with rice or roti.
