Healthy Methi Pakora Recipe
A healthy and tasty Methi Pakora is an Indian snack recipe with methi(fenugreek leaves) mixed with gram flour. The methi pakoras are crispy and also rich nutrients. Follow this recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 cupGram flour (besan)
- 1/4 cupRice flour
- Saltto taste
- 1/2 cupFenugreek Leaves ( Methi)
- 1 teaspoonRed chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoonAsafoetida (hing)
- 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric powder (Haldi)
- 1/2 teaspoonCaraway seeds (Ajwain)
- 1/2 tablespoonCoriander seeds, crushed
- Cooking oilfor deep frying
Directions
- In a bowl sieve gram flour, rice flour and salt and add a ladle of hot oil (heat the oil separately in a small pan for 1 minute) and gently mix with a spoon.
- Add methi leaves, red chili powder, hing, turmeric powder, caraway seeds, crushed coriander seeds, and salt and mix it well.
- Add water very slowly and make a thick batter and once it is done, adjust the spice and salt according to your taste.
- Pour the oil in a pan on medium flame and once it is hot enough, use a greased spoon or wet hands to drop small pakoras (or bite sized pieces) into the hot oil and be sure not to overcrowd the frying pan (or kadhai).
- Fry on medium flame and fry till golden brown and drain the pakoras on the kitchen towel.
- Serve the Methi Pakoras with hot masala chai.
The fenugreek leaves help to control diabetes, balances cholesterol level and it is a good source of dietary fiber.
