How to Make Yakhni Mutton Recipe
Yakhni Mutton is a simple to make, mildly spicy and delicious curry which is best served with steamed rice. Yakhni is a yogurt based gravy without using turmeric or chili powder. This mutton recipe has mouthwatering flavors that can tempt everyone.
Ingredients
- 500 gmchopped mutton
- 4cardamom
- 1/2 inchCinnamon stick
- 1-1/2 tablespoonpowdered aniseed
- 2salt
- 400 gmyogurt (curd)
- 2clove
- 1/3 teaspoondried ginger powder
- 2 tablespoonMint Leaves
Directions
- Pressure cook the mutton with 1 1/2 cups of water and a pinch of salt for 20 to 30 minutes or until the mutton is 3/4ths cooked and do not discard the water, reserve the water and keep the mutton pieces aside.
- Heat curd in a pan and stir continuously to prevent it from splitting and add the cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon and stir for 10 minutes.
- Add ginger powder and stir for a minute and add aniseed powder and add mutton pieces with the water and gently mix it well.
- Add mint leaves and cook for 20 to 30 minutes on a low flame and stir in between
- Cover with the lid and cook for 3 hours or till the mutton is cooked
- Serve it hot with rice.
