Mustard Green Chili Pickle Recipe
Making this green chili pickle is very easy and simple recipe. The pickle has ground mustard seeds, turmeric and lemon juice which imparts a major flavor, aroma, and taste not to forget the presence of green chili pickle goes very well as a condiment with simple meals.
Ingredients
- 250 gramGreen Chilies, washed & pat dried
- 4 tablespoonMustard seeds
- 1 pinchAsafoetida (hing)
- 5 tablespoonsCooking oil
- Saltto taste
- 1/4 teaspoonJaggery
- 1/2 tablespoonLemon juice
- 1 teaspoonTurmeric powder (Haldi)
Directions
- Cut the green chilies into half or more pieces and take the green chilies in a mixing bowl, add a pinch of salt and mix it well.
- Keep those chilies in a bowl for at least half an hour and drain the chili-salt water and keep green chilies in a bowl. (This way green chilies will reduce their spiciness).
- Take a mixing bowl and combine mustard seeds, asafoetida, oil, salt, jaggery, lemon juice and turmeric powder and mix it well.
- Toss all the ingredients and beat them in round motion with your hand for about 4 to 5 minutes.
- After 4 to 5 minutes, add green chilies and toss them and mix everything well.
- Adjust salt and lemon juice according to your taste and transfer them into a sterilized bottle or in a glass jar and store in a fridge.
- Serve Mustard Green Chili Pickle with your everyday meal.
