Crispy Onion Pakora Recipe
Onion Pakora is a deep fried snack that is prepared with besan (gram flour), salt and onion. These are very commonly prepared in most Indian homes and is a popular snack. This pakora makes a good tea time snack. Let’s follow this crispy recipe.
Ingredients
- 2Onion
- 1 small cupBesan / gram flour
- 1 small cupRice flour
- 1 or 2Green chilly
- A handfulCurry leaves
- A handfulCoriander leaves
- 1 tspGhee or butter
- 3 to 4Crushed garlic pods
- To tasteSalt
- To fryOil
Directions
- Step1Peel the skin of the onion, and slice them into fine pieces and take a mixing bowl, add the sliced onions and add besan (gram flour) and rice flour.
- Step2Add finely chopped green chilly, curry leaves, coriander leaves, ghee or butter and crushed garlic pods.
- Step3Add salt, hing, and red chilly powder and mix it well without adding any water and keep it aside for 15 to 20 min.
- Step4Now you can see the onions have let out moisture that is enough for binding the ingredients together and knead the batter gently.
- Step5Heat oil in a pan and drop the mixture in batches to the hot oil.
- Step6Deep fry to golden brown in color on low flame and stir once in a while.
- Step7When the pakoras turn crispy and cooked, remove from the oil and drain it in the kitchen tissue.
- Step8Serve it hot or you can also store it in an airtight container and it will remain crispy and crunchy for 2 to 3 days.
