Cabbage and Chana Dal Sabzi Recipe
Cabbage and Chana Dal sabzi is a common Indian side dish recipe. This dish cooked with split Bengal gram (chana dal) and cabbage. It has a unique taste, flavors and also healthy. It is perfect for busy days. This dish perfect for weekdays lunch or dinner. Let's follow this recipe.
Ingredients
- 3 cupsshredded cabbage
- 1/4 cupchana dal (split Bengal gram)
- 2 tbspOil
- 1 tspcumin seeds (jeera)
- 2green chillies, slit
- 1/4 tspturmeric powder (haldi)
- to tasteSalt
- 1/4 cupfreshly grated coconut
- 2 tbspfinely chopped coriander (dhania)
Directions
- Soak the chana dal in enough water in a bowl for 30 minutes and after 30 min, drain the water from the dal.
- In a deep pan add water and chana dal and blanch it in boiling water for 3 to 4 minutes and then drain the water and keep the chana dal aside.
- Heat the oil in a non-stick kadhai and add the cumin seeds and when the seeds crackle, add the green chillies and fry for a few seconds.
- Add the cabbage, chana dal, turmeric powder and salt and fry on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the coconut, coriander and 2 tbsp of water, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes and stir occasionally.
- Serve it with rice or roti.
